perspective of day
"In the sunshine of the morning, beneath the wide, blue heavens, with a fresh wind astir, what fears, except the most desperate, can find a harbourage? In the night, or the gloomy chambers of the day, fears and misgivings wax strong, but out in the sunlight there is, for a time, cessation even of the terror of death." -- Theodore Dreiser, Sister Carrie

I got into quite a discussion on this topic via Twitter. It is a real hot-button issue for me. This person was going on & on about how Florida (and some other states) were suing because the whole bill was unconstitutional. Which is *so* not what's happening. The State Attorney General in Florida is suing because he says that forcing citizens to purchase a service or be fined like a criminal is unconstitutional. It irritates the ever loving crap out of me when people bitch but don't even bother to be informed about the topic. She actually argued with me! And I *live* here. I know what we're suing over. And then she went on & on over who would choose to be uninsured if they had the choice--which is exactly my point: there *is* no more choice! And I have a *real* problem with that.
