parole is approaching

I have 22 days left of being a resident. And only now am I fully understanding the level of sacrifice five years of residency plus four years of medical school has demanded from my family.

So now it's time for the world to stop revolving around me. It's time for life to be normal. It's time for me to stop bringing drama into everyone's lives. It's time for me to fill the simple roles of a daughter... a sister... a wife. And to fill those roles without people having to use an adjective beforehand that will help people understand why I'm not fulfilling those roles.

(((HUGS))) There isn't a single person who loves you that doesn't understand that you've had huge demands made on you by this process. And those same people also know that you love them & that when your life is your own again, you will be able to fill those roles the way you want to but couldn't.

Oooh, that's a tough one. Because you will still lead a demanding life. Though hopefully now you'll be more in control of it, too. You definitely deserve to kick back and enjoy a little bit (or a lot)!

Life is about give and take. I believe it all works out it in end when all parties are invested in the same outcome. Good luck!
